Cherry Creek keeps producing. The 2027 WR picked up a hometown offer and went to work on the rest.

Cherry Creek High School has produced its share of high-level talent — Kyle Shanahan, former NFL players Tom Ashworth and Tyler Polumbus, and more recently Ohio State commit George Fitzpatrick and Oregon commit Blake Purchase. Alijah Landrum-Hamilton was proving to be next in line, with a fresh offer from Colorado State.

A hometown offer

Born and raised in Colorado, the CSU offer was more than another line on the list.

“It’s a special feeling to receive recognition from a hometown program, especially one that I’ve respected for so long.”

Then-offensive coordinator Matt Mumme made the early impression.

“He has been genuine and shown real interest in who I am as a person, not just as a football player. This means a lot to me because building strong relationships with coaches who value character is important.”

With Cherry Creek playing its state final in Fort Collins, he got a look at the program’s environment firsthand.

“I love the culture that Coach Jay Norvell has created. The direction they’re heading suggests a strong focus on competition and winning — both of which I resonate with.”

What the film shows

A well-rounded receiver whose skill set travels. Route-running precision and football IQ make him a consistent playmaker; strong hands and body control let him win contested catches.

He is explosive off the line and separates early, which wins him man-to-man matchups. Once he has separation, the catch radius and body control show up on balls in the air. What sets him apart is reading coverage — understanding what the defense is doing and using his route running to open windows rather than just running past people.

Exposure and development

Landrum-Hamilton credits 5 Star Football Recruiting and Coach Isaac Hadac with helping him navigate the process. The advantage, in his telling, was national exposure plus a tailored approach to highlighting what he specifically does well — which is what produced the CSU offer.

Summer plans and goals for the season

Heading into the summer before his junior year: a more physical blocking style, sharpening every route in the tree, and more speed and agility.

“I’m striving to always be the best receiver on the field.”

“I want to prove I’m ready to make an impact at the college level, striving for excellence both individually and for the team.”

The road ahead

At the time he had visits planned to LSU, UCF, Kansas State, Colorado and Wyoming, and was hoping to hear from Nebraska, Houston, SMU and Kentucky.
